| Los Angeles — Equality California expressed sadness following the election Tuesday night of Donald Trump as the 45th president of the United States.“We are deeply disappointed at Secretary Clinton’s loss and hope that Donald Trump adheres to statements he has made that indicate support for the LGBT,” said Equality California Executive Director Rick Zbur. “. However, given Mr. Trump’s choice of a running mate and prior statements about a willingness to appoint Supreme Court justices who would reverse marriage equality, this is a worrisome development for the LGBT community. Equality California will be vigilant over the next four years as we safeguard and attempt to advance the civil rights gains that we have made under President Obama.” |
